Who: Painter David Wachs is both a longtime resident of Central Oregon and an avid traveler. He spent eight months last year living and painting in Bend. At the moment, he’s wintering in Washington, where when he’s not painting, he’s a part-time ski instructor at Stevens Pass. But he’s kept a part of himself close to Bend: At Franklin Crossing in downtown Bend, you can see “Central Oregon Winter Drama,” featuring upward of 26 colorful works in Wachs’ self-described “loose, gestural approach.” The show displays through Jan. 28.
